PROGRESSIVE BRAKING
- Initially applies foot brake firmly.
- Progressively applies brake pedal pressure as vehicle speed decreases.
- Looks ahead, not at the ground in front of the vehicle.
- Maintains two-handed steering and avoids any obstacles.
- Depresses clutch pedal (manual) just before stopping to prevent stalling.
- Stops short of any designated obstacle without excessive wheel lock-up.
CADENCE BRAKING
- Depresses clutch pedal (manual) to the floor and holds it there.
- Stabs brake pedal repeatedly to apply and release brakes.
- Looks ahead, not at the ground in front of the vehicle.
- Maintains two-handed steering and steers around any hazards.
- Stops short of any designated obstacle without excessive wheel lock-up.
ABS
- Explains basic operation and key advantages of ABS.
- Pushes both clutch and brake pedal fully down and leaves them there.
- Looks ahead, not at the ground in front of the vehicle.
- Maintains two-handed steering and steers around any hazards.
- Stops short of any designated obstacles.
