During this time, you should ask the seller for proof that the vehicle is registered in their name. They can easily do this by showing you the vehicle listed in their myVicRoads account.

4.  You may want to get your own independent vehicle inspection (to see what might need to be fixed on the car, to negotiate the price).

5.  The seller must start the Transfer Form.

6. Buy insurance (Comprehensive preferred, but at least 3rd Party) before collecting the car.

7.  Pay money and collect the vehicle.

8. Complete the transfer, pay transfer fee (VicRoads).
